Shot Down in Flames!

We went, we spoke, ....we lost.
Last night approximately two dozen Burbank citizens from our neighborhood went to the Burbank City Council chambers to address the City Council and to voice our opposition to the winter homeless shelter at the National Guard Armory. During the public comments section approximately a dozen people rose up to give their comments to the Council and asked them to reconsider their vote. Many of the people, who are shy about addressing large groups, got up and spoke from their hearts directly to the individuals whom they believe are putting our community in unnecessary danger.
Going in we knew it was a longshot. However we succeeded in getting our points made, and the council won’t soon forget us. At a previous meeting our neighborhood was passingly referred to as an industrial area. After tonight, the City Council knows that we are a tight-knit community with a commitment to our families and homes that is second to none.
